Summer Series
Our Wednesday night Summer Race series will be back from Wednesday 15th May 2024 and run weekly for 15 weeks to Wednesday 21rd August 2024.
End of series trophies will be awarded to those who have completed 50% of the series plus one round or more (8 minimum depending on the number of rounds completed).
Volunteers
The club relies on its volunteers to run events. Please put your hand up when Becky sends requests for volunteers to keep events running. No experience is required in any of the roles and you will be supported by experienced volunteers. If all roles are not filled, then we risk racing being cancelled.
Step up and be that guy/girl!!
Registration
Sign on will be by online pre-registration via the BC website and will close at 6pm on the Tuesday in the week of each race. Riders will also be able to register on the night.
Riders who have pre-registered will have no need to queue, sign on will be completed by completing a lap of the track with an active transponder after 6pm once sign on is open.
Riders who are not registered for racing at the event will not be permitted to practice at the event.

Race age calculation: current year – year of birth = race age (eg. 2023 – 2014 = 9)
Clip shoes and pedals may be worn by riders 13 and over.
Riders may race up a class on the agreement of the club coaches.
(Girls may race in the boys classes, but also have the female classes. Where a class has than 3 riders it will be merged with the next available class. Riders aged 15+ may compete in Elite based on their ability and at the discretion on the club coaches)
Race Fees
Pre-Registration:
Members: £5 + £1 admin
Non-members: £9 + £1 admin
On The Night:
£10 (card only)
(On top of the £1 paid to British Cycling for admin, did you know that an average of £1.70 of your race fee goes to British Cycling for their levy charges and a further £0.70 goes to Sqorz for use of the system?)
Transponders
All riders will need an active transponder for racing, and they can be purchased here – https://hssports.co.uk/sales/mylaps-prochip-flex-personal-transponder/
We will have 10 transponders for hire – £5 each per race with a £20 cash deposit, refunded on return of the transponder. No cash, no transponder hire.
Race Results
All riders will need Sqorz on their phone to view their rider info, race lists, gate positions, race numbers and results at the end of each event. New riders will be guided through the system on request.

Bike Hire
Bike hire will be available – £5 per bike, per rider, per race night.
Timetable
Car Park/Open practice: 17:30 – 18:00
Sign on/Gate practice: 18:00 – 19:00
Racing: 19:00
Rider Ability
Riders should have completed our INTRO TO BMX programme or be able to complete full laps of the track unaided. Parent/Guardians are not permitted on the start hill or any part of the race track during practice or racing.
Race Kit
Riders should be wearing full race kit for race nights. Joggers and track suit trousers ARE NOT permitted, however NEW riders may use jeans. Full length sleeves are a must along with a full face helmet, gloves and trainers.
If you have raced at regional level and above, full race kit is MANDATORY!!
Pump Racing
Pump races will only be permitted in the Elite class where previously agreed by the majority of riders in the class.
Dogs
Dogs are welcome on site but must be kept on leads and well away from the start hill.
Food/Refreshments
Torsbeanie Café will be on site serving fantastic hot food, and the tuck shop will be open for drinks and sweets.
